Introduction
Kaolin is a non-metallic mineral, which is a kind of clay and clay rock dominated by kaolinite clay minerals. It is named after Gaoling village, Jingde town, Jiangxi Province. Pure kaolin is white, fine, and soft, with good plasticity, fire resistance, and other physical and chemical properties. Its mineral composition is mainly composed of kaolinite, halloysite, hydromica, illite, montmorillonite, quartz, feldspar, and other minerals. Kaolin is widely used, mainly in papermaking, ceramics, and refractories, followed by coatings, rubber fillers, enamel glaze, and white cement raw materials, and a small amount is used in plastic, paint, pigment, grinding wheel, pencil, daily cosmetics, soap, pesticide, medicine, textile, petroleum, chemical industry, building materials, national defense, and other industrial departments.

For the drying process that needs to recover the solvent, the solvent concentration can be greatly improved. Due to the special blade structure, the materials are squeezed and relaxed alternately in the drying process, which strengthens the drying. The filling rate of materials in the drying room is very high, which can reach 80% - 90%. The residence time of materials can be adjusted from a few minutes to a few hours by adjusting the feeding speed, mixing shaft speed, material filling degree, and other parameters. In addition, the movement of materials from the feeding port to the discharge port in the dryer is basically piston movement, and the residence time distribution is narrow, so the moisture content of products is uniform. It has been successfully used in compound fertilizer and modified starch industries. The paddle dryer can be used to sterilize food and flour. The large heating area in the unit effective volume can quickly heat the material to the sterilization temperature, avoiding the change of material quality caused by long-time heating.
